Cabarrus Country Club Tennis

The tennis program as Cabarrus Country Club is all about bringing people together around the love of the game of tennis no matter your age or ability. We offer tennis lessons, tennis clinics, tennis leagues, summer camps, socials like pickleball and more! Cabarrus Country Club's tennis facilities include four hard surface courts and four Har Tru courts, lighted. Novices and advanced players alike will find  an enjoyable tennis experience at Cabarrus Country Club. Cabarrus Country Club hosts a Men's and Ladies' USTA Teams as well as, Piedmont Ladies' Interclub Tennis. Please inquire about our expanding Junior Tennis Program at Cabarrus Country Club. Mark Allen Tennis, Inc. is made up of some of the top tennis professionals in the Concord and Charlotte areas. Our experienced and knowledgeable staff are here to assist in finding the tennis related product or service you are looking for, whether it be improving your forehand stroke or finding the right tennis racquet that fits your game.
 

Mark Allen
Director of Tennis, USPTA Certified Professional

Before starting Mark Allen Tennis, Inc. Mark was the Head Tenis Professional and Membership Director at Charlotte Racquet Club North. Mark is originally from Charlotte and was a state ranked junior player growing up. He graduated from and played Division 1 tennis at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He is a USTPA certified professional in good standing and currently has a NTRP benchmark rating of 4.5. He finished 2010 as the number #1 ranked Mens 4.5 doubles player in the state of North Carolina and #3 ranked 5.0 doubles player in the southern region.  


Matt Chatterton
Head Tennis Professional, USPTR Teaching Professional

Matt is originally from Long Island, New York.  Matt has been a full-time teaching professional for 23 years and is a certified USPTR teaching professional and former 5.0 USTA tournament player. While training for his tournament matches, he was fortunate enough to train with former ATP touring pro and Eric Fromm (#51 in the world).   Matt has spent the past 13 years as a full-time teaching professional and camp director at Eastern Athletic Clubs on Long Island, NY.  Prior to that, he was the director of tennis at The Hamlet Golf and Country Club on Long Island, as well as head professional at Miller Place Tennis Club. Matt has also coached college level men’s and women’s tennis for Suffolk College, as well as having coached the Shoreham Wading River boy’s high school team to the county championships.   During his teaching career, Matt has been an advisory staff member for Wilson, Dunlop and Prince.   Matt Chatterton – “Passion and dedication to this sport goes without saying, and the relationships developed along the way are what drives a coach to get the best from every player.”


Rena Goolsby
Director Quick Start Tennis, USPT Certified Professional

A Concord native, Rena is a graduate of Northwest Cabarrus High School where she played #1, was two times All Conference and was granted a tennis scholarship to Pfeiffer College. She is a member of the USPtA and has been teaching Quick Start tennis to children for the past 5 years. She has been a State and Southern Section Champion in Combo and Mixed Doubles. Rena looks forward to bringing a new generation to love tennis. 


Andrew Jones
Assistant Tennis Professional

Andrew played 4 years of varsity level high school tennis. While in high school Andrew consistently carried the number 1 and number 2 ranking in singles and doubles play for his team. Joining this group in the summer of 2013 he has taken his enthusiasm for the game and found a way to pass on his knowledge and experience to the junior tennis program players. Under the apprenticeship of our experienced staff, Andrew is currently studing for his USPTA (United States Professional Tennis Association) Tennis Professional Certification.


SPORTS/SOCIAL MEMBERSHIP

A sports/social membership permits the primary member and immediate family the use of clubhouse for dining and special events, use of pool and tennis facilities. No Initiation fee. Monthly Dues for Sports/Social Membership - $170.00. Monthly food/beverage spending minimum - $40.00. Food and beverages purchased from all service areas (main banquet room, Member Overlook Bar & Grill, Pool, Beverage Cart, etc.) will apply toward the minimum.
